Co-operation Ireland launches Company Challenge for Maracycle
Co-operation Ireland presents Maracycle 2012, a weekend of cycling between the two major cities of Belfast and Dublin, with shorter distances to suit all abilities. Starting in Belfast on Saturday 23 June you have an option of cycling 110 miles to finish in Dublin, 40 miles to finish in Newry, or start in Newry and cycle 70 miles to Dublin. There is also a choice of starting in Dublin on Sunday 24 June and cycling 110 miles to finish in Belfast, 70 miles to finish in Newry or start in Newry and cycle 40 miles to Belfast.

Santa Flashmob
Christmas is upon us and a range of youth groups across Northern Ireland want to bring the festive cheer to the city in aid of good relations in action.
On 17th December (the last day of the Christmas Continental Markets at the City Hall), up to 1,000 young people from youth groups and communities across the province will surprise Christmas shoppers as they assemble for a Santa Flashmob.
SOLACE/CCMA Joint seminar
The 3rd SOLACE/CCMA Joint seminar was hosted by Co-operation Ireland in the Knightsbrook hotel in Trim Co. Meath on 16th November. The event was run in association with the Institute of Public Administration with Philip Byrne acting as MC for the day. The theme of the seminar was the “Reform agenda for Local Government” and the keynote address was given by Minister Brendan Howlin, Department of Expenditure and Public Reform.

President of Ireland delights All-Island Choir Winners
Wesley College, Dublin was the winning choir in the final of the 3rd annual Co-operation Ireland All-Island School Choir Competition which was broadcast live on RTE from the Millennium Forum Theatre, Derry 13th November in front of an audience which included, as guest of honour, President of Ireland and Joint Patrons of Co-operation, Michael D Higgins.
The 2011 Pride of Place Winners
The winners of the 2011 Pride of Place Competition were announced at a gala celebration ceremony in Gorey, Co. Wexford on Saturday 5 November. More than 500 people from practically every county on the island were in attendance to hear the results of the 9th annual competition.
Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government Phil Hogan TD along with Co-operation Ireland Chairman Christopher Moran and Pride of Place Committee Chairman Tom Dowling presented the winning groups with their awards.

Co-operation Ireland support all Ireland police rugby team
Today (2 November) the newly branded Ireland Police Rugby team took on a British Police Select Team at Newforge in Belfast. The Ireland Police Rugby Team is a combination of members of An Garda Síochána and the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
Ireland Police Rugby was founded in 2003. However, today will be their first game playing in their new kits, which display the newly designed Ireland Police Rugby badge. It is also the third fixture against the British Police, with the winners this year taking away a newly presented Challenge Cup.
IPC Seminar – The Northern Irish Identity Debate
The Irish Peace Centres in partnership with Queen University Belfast hosted a seminar on Northern Irish Identity at Queens University’s Canada Room on 2 November.
The seminar was a follow up to the IPC Summer School event where the future direction of the Northern Irish identity was deliberated. During today seminar these ideas were further explored. The seminar concentrated on " Does the Northern Irish identity contribute to peace building?"
