Powerful Words

I have had the opportunity this week to be involved with Féile an Phobail, The West Belfast Festival as a volunteer on the management team and a journey back to my roots. From the quirky Crooked Still on the first night, the brilliant Beat, a meeting with our Mary & Martin - AGAIN! as well as the surreal Alexi Sayle and not to mention Utter Madness and the mighty London Community Gospel Choir at Clonard it has been a whirlwind of cultural snapshots, debate, exhibitions and great moments that will stay with me for a long time for the festival I have always felt truly home at.

Corrymeela Community

As I begin to get used to my new post I am also trying to get used to combining two very different roles with Corrymeela and Co-operation Ireland. As the Irish Peace Centres role develops I am slowly but surely getting my head around the bigger consortium approach and the organisational culture of Corrymeela which is distinctly different than that of Co-operation Ireland on a number of levels - it has been interesting so far. I had the opportunity this week to visit Corrymeela's fantastic centre at Ballycastle.

The week that was......

Without repeating in too much detail what has already been posted up by my colleague Alan I can honestly say that last week was very memorable and rewarding on many levels.

Connections

Looking forward to developing this additional element of keeping in touch and updated with everyone.....
